We have nearly come to the end of another successful breakout week, where normal lessons are paused and we bring in all sorts of industry professionals to talk to our students.
Nearly 100 workshops took place over the week and featured a diverse range of topics including:
House production
Remixing
Mastering
DJ Skills
VJing
Circuit Bending
Ethical Living
Meditation
Demo Panels
Applying for Arts funding
This was a week where the music department called on their industry links to come in and talk to the students about their jobs and how they got into their profession. Guests included;
Simon Skevington (A&R Ninja Tune)
Jon Goodwillie (A&R Catskills Records)
Dan Arnold (The Qemists)
Jon Tester (Bucks Music Group Publishing)
Laura Ducceschi (De La Warr Pavillion)
Mark Clifford (Warp Records)
Gary Mullholland (Guardian Music Critic)
The main ethos of the week was to give students the chance to talk with industry professionals about how they got into the business, and to give students the opportunity to try new things.
