Northbrook Exposed 2008

The event was a huge success, over 300 people came to see 25 student acts that were spread over two floor of the Komedia in Brighton.

The Studio bar upstairs hosted Northbrooks “Music Trade Fair” in the afternoon, where composition students invited industry professionals from film, TV and computer games companies to view their work. This was a great opportunity for students to make valuable industry contacts and a couple them have developed avenues for potential future employment. There were then a variety of acoustic acts including Flamenco, Turkish Folk, Acoustic Drum and Bass and cover versions.

Downstairs on the main stage was another melting pot of student acts including HipHop/Blues from Gentleman’s Club, Crosis & BOC’s digital mayhem, and Drum & Bass DJ sets from JimmyT & TwoToes. The spirit of Music at Northbrook is to nurture the hugely diverse range of student talent at all levels – some acts on the night were seasoned performers and for some it was their first “proper” gig.

The night was a fantastic opportunity for students to show off their skills that they’ve been developing and to celebrate the end of another great year of Music at Northbrook.
