
What Would I Learn?
This course is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career as a composer, particularly in the context of the media, and as such offers a comprehensive introduction to composing and producing music for a variety of media applications. You will focus on developing core skills of research, language and technology through small commercial projects and stylistic pastiche in a variety of genres. You will study; rock, pop, dance and jazz styles, historical classical techniques, contemporary orchestration and folk music from a range of world cultures.
Possible Careers:
Former students have gone on to become successful media composers both as freelance and in-house. Other careers include music/sound for computer games, music for adverts, music for radio, film composer.
Courses We Offer:
Our FE courses (First Diploma and National Diploma) all contain elements of composition, and are great feeders for progressing on to the dedicated Music Composition Foundation Degree and BA(hons) courses.
