Northbrook Music Events
Breakout Week 2009
7th November 2009
Breakout Week is a week of extra-curricular activities which we organise for our students to help widen their horizons. It is a week when normal lessons are paused and guest lecturers from the music industry come in and give talks about how they got into their profession and how to develop students’ careers.
There are all sorts of activities happening – here is a small example;
• Music Journalism with James Kendall from DJ/Source magazine • Putting on big events from Goldfrapp to Iggy Pop with Laura Duccesschi • Dance percussion workshop with Stomp • Interview with Mark Clifford (Warp/Rephlex Records) • How to apply for Arts Funding from the Arts Council and PRS Foundation with Adam Bushell • Introduction to VJing with metaLuna • Parkour with Dan Ford • Meditation with Mick Feltham • Vocal Looping with Bunty • Music for Media with Nico Willems • Screen Sound, Foley Recording with Dave Hunt • Microprocessors and MaxMSP with Mick Feltham • Art Club with Phil Minns • Graffiti Workshop with Jodi Masouri • Being a Freelance Musician with Mike Simmonds
