The Course This degree programme offers a natural progression from Higher National Diploma or Foundation Degree Music programmes. This degree course develops professional skills and specialist practice within a challenging framework of leading edge research. Students explore the changing nature of the music industry and related industries. The course aims to produce innovative and creative practitioners able to fulfil a variety of roles within this economically and culturally important sector.
Course Content The course includes four skills based modules:
- Major Music Business Project
- Music Business Studies
- Business and Career Development
- Dissertation
These modules give students an opportunity to develop their skills within the key areas of Music Industry, Entrepreneurship, Law, Marketing and Research.
Progression/Career Path Artist Management/Event Management/Record Label ownership or employee/Music Publisher/Agent/Promoter/Freelance Musician/New Music Distribution Companies/Music PR/Venue Management/Music and Entertainment Law.
Entry Requirements HND with merit/distinction profile or Foundation Degree in a relevant Music or Media programme Applicants with relevant professional experience but no formal qualifications will be considered Applications from mature students are welcome
